Setting Up the SASI Workspace
1. Open SASI using the navigating to SASI directions described on the
SASI Navigation page.
2. The first time you use SASI you have set up you toolbars with the atom aliases you have access to. This is the way your workspace will look like when you log on to SASI for the first time.
3. Double-click the
SASI Modules icon in the workspace.
The
SASI Modules window will open, displaying three suitcases you can access. (Student Info, Attendance and Grade Reporting)
4. Double-click the
STUDENT INFO suitcase. There are 4 Atoms in this suitcase. (Student, Classes, Parent/Guardian, Phone Numbers)
5. Click and Drag the Students Atom alias icon to the first box at the top of the toolbar and “dock” the alias to this box by deselecting the icon. (The Student Atom alias should stick and be saved to the first box on the toolbar.) Repeat this step for all four of the 'Atoms' in the 'Student Info' suitcase. This is known as "Unpacking the Atoms."
6 . Repeat these steps for the other suitcases (Attendance and Grade Reporting) until you have filled all the boxes on the toolbar.
Note: There are two suitcases inside of the 'Grade Reporting' suitcase. You should have nine atom icons on your toolbar when done.

7. Save your toolbar changes by going to “File” on the menu bar and selecting “Save Desktop”. Now that you understand many of the functions of SASI, you can start using some of the
'Basic Tasks in SASI.'
