The San Mateo Union High School District provides Technology Support to Teachers, Staff and Students in many ways. Teachers and staff can use this site as a forum for many of the technology support questions they have and direct them to the appropriate staff for the support they need.

    District Technology Support: Tutorials on this page can help you get answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) and or give you a quick refresher course on how to use some of the technology tools the San Mateo Union High School District has for teachers and students such as:

      Edtech Resources The resources we have access to grow daily and it is difficult to keep track of all of it. This section of the site will provide you with links and professional development opportunities that will allow you to keep your own Information Literacy skills up to date and show you some implementation strategies to use with your classes.

      • Google For Eductors Google, the search engine, has acquired many online software applications and is providing them free of charge to anyone. See the free tools you and your students have at their disposal.
      • Learning with Web 2.0 is a site that provides some background to the world of Web 2.O and highlights some of its free tools. These applications allow teachers and students to make the Internet a two-way communications medium. Web 2.0 is often described as the 'Read/Write Web.'
      • Information Literacy- refers to the ability a person must have in order to recognize when information is needed and have the skills to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information.
      • Digital Citizenship-Citizenship refers to the appropriate use of technology in terms of 9 themes: Etiquette, communication, literacy, access, commerce, law, rights & responsibilities, health & wellness, and security.

        Site Level Support:
        Each of the schools has a Technology Coordinator and a Technology Support Specialist. All requests for on site support need to be forwarded to the Technology Coordinator at your school. Onsite support is limited to workstation, software and phone issues.

        • District Level Support: All issues dealing with Novell or e-mail accounts are handled at a district level by the Technology Liasion. If a teacher is experiencing difficulty logging in to the District network or you cannot access your district e-mail account contact the Technology Liasion.
