SASI Terminology and Workspace - SMUHSD Technology Support

1. SASI Modules: this icon holds all the “atoms” or functions a user/teacher has access to.

2. Atoms: are the basic program components that allow you to complete tacks within SASI such as launching applications, activating applications menus and opening data forms.

3. Toolbar: vertical bar on the left side of desktop with docking bays for Atom aliases.

4. Alias: represents an atom and serves as a shortcut to launching the atom or opening a folder. Aliases are docked in toolbars.

5. Docking: is the term used for positioning an atom alias in a toolbar.

6. Menu Bar: this is the horizontal bar at the top of the desktop displaying the file, edit, windows, data, and help menus and any application menu associated with an atom.

7. Records: records represent a single piece of information within a data field. For example, each record in a Student file represents one student.

Now that you understand a little about the workspace, let's try pulling out some Atoms and accessing the database.
